MAINE COON'S GROWTH
Your Maine Coon kitten will grow to be a large, long and muscular cat with large, tufted paws and ears and a long, bushy tail. The Maine Coon is known as the "gentle giant" of cats, with its easygoing and friendly disposition. Maine Coon Kittens are a Giant Breed kitty! Boys will often reach 20 pounds or more by their first birthday and the girls may reach 15 pounds at that same age. Both will continue to grow for their first four years. Their second year being a slower pace but often with a growth spurt right around that 2 year old birthday. Years 3 and 4 are a steady filling out of muscle and body mass along with those amazing coats! Adult Maine Coons 4 years old and up, can be expected to reach 25-28 pounds or more for the boys and 20-23 pounds for the girls....or more still for them too! Please never limit your cats food intake during these very massive years of growth. Cats need to be allowed room to be self motivated eaters!
MAINE COON'S PURRSONALITY
Maine Coons will also love to show you their "game on " playfulness and skill! Often initiating a game of fetch with everything from toy springs, mylar squishy balls to unsuspecting ear buds 🫶🏻 while encouraging your interaction with them by vocalizing trills, chirps, clicks and coos! You'll delight in learning their language and they will reward you by teaching you more and more loving sounds to share with them! Keep those cords and chargers out of their living space! Families may even love the added adventure of harness and leash training for their kitty to stay right at their side during outings...showing themselves off as only a Maine Coon can!
